The root of today’s highly advanced revolution in electronic music stems from the
invention in 1919 of the very first and unique electronic instrument the theremin.
The theremin has the appearance of a box with two anntenia one dedicated to
sound and the other to the musician playing. Despite the enormity of advances in
electronic music the theremin has survived and remains in demand globally by
musicians. In Turkey, Fazıl Say used the theremin within his music to introduce the
instrument to his audiances (2012).
