Abstract

ABSTRACT
While the phenomenon of globalization has come to the fore with the changes in the time-space perceptions of the societies and the process of making sense of the world since the 1980s, it has brought political, social and cultural changes, primarily economic. With this change, with the dissolution of the USSR, the People's Republic of China, which has benefited from the opportunity created by the international system's transition from a bipolar to a one-pole system, is growing day by day in the economic, political and military fields with its unique proactive action style and rise.
With this study, it is aimed to reveal the capacity of China to become a “superpower” by evaluating its position in the perspective of international political economy in the light of the economic and political phases it has undergone since the establishment of the People's Republic of China.
