Diyet ve Pankreas Kanseri

Abstract

Pankreas kanseri çok iyi bilindiği gibi prognozu kötü ve sağkalım süresi kısa olan

bir kanser türüdür. Bu kanser türünün erken evrede tanı almasının zor olması, kemoterapi

ve radyoterapi tedavilerine dirençli olmasından dolayı agresif bir hastalıktır. Bu nedenlerden

dolayı pankreas kanserinin nedeninin ve etkili bir tedavi yönteminin bulunması

önemlidir. Fazla kilolu olma, diyabet, sigara ve diyet tanımlanan bazı risk faktörlerindendir.

Sağlıklı yaşama, düzenli egzersiz, sigara içmeme, ideal kiloyu koruma, düşük

yağ ve şeker içeren diyetler pankreas kanseri ve daha birçok kanseri önleme de etkili

olduğu gösterilmiştir. Taze meyve ve sebze tüketimi pankreas kanseri gelişim riskini

azaltmaktadır. Son çalışmalarda kabuklu yemişlerin tüketiminin koruyucu etki gösterdiği

saptanmıştır. Diyetin pankreas kanserine karşı etkili olduğunu gösteren çalışmalara

rağmen bu alanda çok daha fazla araştırmaya ihtiyaç vardır. Bu çalışmada diyet alışkanlığı

ve pankreas kanseri arasındaki ilişkiyi tartıştık.
