The central focus of this study is to examine the potential reasons that help justify government intervention in education market. The degree to which educational market fulfill the conditions necessary to guarantee socially efficient results in education was evaluated. It was found that the existing imperfections in education market may yield socially inefficient results, particularly in the basic education level. The three major way of government intervention were discussed in brief.
