ltalian philosopher Agamben defines camp as a fourth element added to the state-natiohterritory triplet. The camp, whose "law" turns unlawful into law, has ceased to be a security precaution adopted during the states of emergency, and has begun to apply to many contemporary spatial arrangements from the airport to the ghetto of the global city. This study is a critical appraisal of Agamben's article titled "The Camp as the Nomos of the Modern." in the last ·quarter of the twentieth century when the citizenswilfully build their own camps, it would be very inadequate to think of camp merely within the limits of the nation-state-the law of camp has extended its field of force beyond the borders of the nation-state into the civil society

İtalyan filozof Agamben kampı, devlet, ulus, toprak üçlüsüne eklenen dördüncü bir öge olarak tanımlıyor. Günümüzde olağanüstü hallerde uygulanan bir güvenlik önlemi olmaktan çıkan kampın kuraldışını kural hale getiren "yasası," havaalanlarından küresel kentlerin varoşlarına kadar pek çok mekansal düzenlemede geçerliliğini sürdürmektedir. Bu çalışma, Agamben'in "Modernin Yasası Olarak Kamp" adlı makalesinin eleştirel bir değerlendirmesidir. Yurttaşların kendi iradeleriyle kendi kamplarını kurdukları yirminci yüzyılın son çeyreğinde, kampı yalnızca ulus-devletin sınırları içinde değerlendirmek çok eksik olacaktır-kampın yasası etkinlik alanını ulus-devletin sınırlarının dışına, sivil topluma kadar esnetmiştir
