Abstract

Üzerinde yoğun tartışmaların yapıldığı modernlik, çelişik doğası itibariyle çözümlenmesi güç bir olgudur. Modernliğin özgürleşmeci ve baskı altına alıcı iki zıt yapıya sahip olması ve temelde bu iki bileşenli yapının birbirlerini nasıl etkiledikleri konusunda farklı teoriler dolaşımdadır. Bu çalışmada, modernliğin bu farklı bileşenlerinin aşılamazlığına, başka bir ifadeyle bu iki yapının çetrefil ve birbirinin üstesinden gelemeyen çatışık ve karmaşık bir sürece yol açtığına dikkat çekiliyor. Bu durum aynı zamanda modern ahlakın krizini de açığa çıkarmaktadır. Bir yandan yönetici iktidarın baskı pratikleriyle şekillenen kamusal ahlak, öte yandan piyasa ahlakının araçsalcı aklının hakim normları, bu aklın ve normlarının eleştirisine imkan veren eleştirel bir söylem aynı kriz sürecinin bıleşenleridir. Bu haliyle modern ahlakın krizi de aşılamaz bir süreğenlik olarak belirmektedir. Modernliğin karmaşık yapısı ya da müphemliği, insan öznesinin müphemliğine de dikkat çeker, ve insan benliğinin, insanın ahlaki itkilerindekindeki karmaşık rolüne vurgu yapar. Modern ahlakın krizi sürecinde gündelik yaşamda insanların olaylar ve olgular karşısında aldığı tavır, hakikat temelli ideolojilerin tutarlı etik kodlarını boşa çıkarmakta ve hakikati insanın ahlaki benliği ve tecrübesi üzerinden yeniden sorgulamaya yol açmaktadır.

Crisis of the Modern Ethics and the Aftermath

Abstract

Modernity, over which there has been intense controversy, is a difficult phenomenon to analyze as for its contradictory nature. Different theories prevail as to the facts that modernity has two opposite structures such as liberation and suppression, and how these two·component structures interact. This study dwells upon the impossibility of these different components of modernity, in other words, these two structures lead to a conflicting and complicated process where one can not overcome the other, which also discloses crisis the modern ethics goes through. The public ethics formed with the oppressions imposed by the governing power on one hand, and prevailing norms of the pragmatist mentality of the market ethics and the critical discourse that allows for criticizing this mentality and norms on the other hand, are the components of the some crisis process. Thus, crisis of modern ethics appears to be an impassable contuniunity. Complicated structure or ambivalence of modernity draws the attentian to the ambivalence of human subject, and emphasizes the complex role of human being in his/her the ethical drives. The attitude taken by the human beings in daily life in the crisis of modern ethics against the events and facts invalidates the consistent ethic codes of truth-based ideologıes, and paves the way to re-investigation of the truth over ethical self and experience of the human being.
