Abstract

These article is about self-portrait. Self-portrait is a portrait of an artist done by himself. Nearly all painters have painted self-portrait through the history of painting. Frida Kahlo, the Mexican painter, painted lots ot self-portrait through his life too. The aim of this study is to analyze three paintings of Frida Kahlo by the method of semiotics. These paintings are Kahlo's self-portraits titled "The two Fridas", "The Broken Column" and "The Love Embrace of the Universe". The meaning was tried to be constructed using the sub·meanings of figures in the paintings. In conclusion there are a lot of different means and properties of Frida Kahlo's self-portraits. Frida Kahlo had explained her life, her love, her pain, her anxiety, her sexuality and about Mexican mithology by means of her self·portraits. Self·portraits have been the best way of explaining herself for Frida Kahlo.

Frida Kahlo ve Kendini İfade Etmenin Yolu Olarak Otoportre

Abstract

Bu makale otoportre ile ilgilidir. Otoportre, bir ressamın kendi portresini yapması anlamına gelmektedir. Resim tarihi boyunca hemen hemen her ressam otoportre çalışmıştır. Meksikalı ressam Frida Kahla da hayatı boyunca birçok otoportre yapmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Frida Kahlo'nun üç resmini göstergebilimsel yöntemle incelemektir. Bu resimler Frida Kahlo'nun "iki Frida", "Kırık Sütun" ve "Evrenin Aşk Kucaklayışı" adlı otoportreleridir. Anlam resimlerdeki göstergelerin yan anlamlarından hareketle çözümlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, frida Kahlo'nun otoportrelerinde çok farklı anlamlar ve özellikler vardır. Frida Kahlo otoportreleri yoluyla hayatını, aşkını, acısını, kaygısını, cinselliğini ve Meksika mitolojisini anlatmıştır. Frida Kahla için otoportre kendini anlatmanın en iyi yolu olmuştur.
