Sepiyolitin Buzağı İshallerindeki Terapotik Etkinliği

Year 2016, Volume: 9 Issue: 3, 226 - 229, 01.09.2016

Abstract

Therapeutic Efficacy of Sepiolite on Calf with Diarrhea

Year 2016, Volume: 9 Issue: 3, 226 - 229, 01.09.2016

Abstract

Sepiolite is a clay mineral which belongs to the group of phyllosilicates. Several studies have indicated that feeding sepiolite reduces the incidence, severity and duration of diarrhea in animals. The mechanism for the reduction in diarrhea is likely due to decreases in Clostridia and E. coli in the small intestine of animals fed sepiolite. In addition, several studies have indicated that sepiolite can help mitigate the effects of mycotoxins. The aim of the present review is to focus on sepiolite which has been given attention in recent research and to discuss its potential to improve animal performance.
