INTERACTINS OF ORAL CONTRACEPTIVES WITH DRUGS, PLANT AND FOODS

Abstract

Unwanted pregnancy is one of the problems that people have been suffering for centuries. People have developed many methods to overcome this problem. Although these methods used in the past are ineffective and unreasonable, the recent successes of hormonal methods such as hormonal contraceptives, intrauterine implement, barrier methods, surgical sterilization, which are used today, have proven to be the result of scientific studies with high success in preventing unwanted pregnancy.Although oral contraceptives have a high percentage of protection success, they also have undesirable effects such as every drug. Nutrient/medicine and medicine/medicine interactions are leading these undesirable effects. As a result of this interaction, as the effect of the other medicine/nutrient used may change, the effect of oral contraceptives may also be reduced. As a result of this interaction, various physiological activities such as menstrual cycle bleeds may also be affected.In this review, general information about oral contraceptives, and the interaction of oral contraceptives with other medicines and the interactions of oral contraceptives with nutrients were researched

ORAL KONTRASEPTİFLERİN İLAÇ, BİTKİ VE BESİNLERLE ETKİLEŞİMİ

Öz

İstenmeyen gebelik, insanların geçmişten günümüze çözmeye uğraştıkları sorunlardan biridir. İnsanlar bu problemin üstesinden gelmek için pek çok yöntem geliştirmiştir. Eski dönemlerde bu kullanılan kontraseptif yöntemler, etkisiz ve mantıkdışı olsa da günümüzde kullanılan; hormonal kontraseptifler, rahim içi araçlar, bariyer yöntemleri, cerrahi sterilizasyonlar gibi yöntemlerin, istenmeyen gebeliğin önlenmesindeki yüksek yüzdeli başarısı bilimsel çalışmalar sonucu kanıtlanmıştır.Oral kontraseptiflerin yüksek yüzdeli korunma başarısı olsa da, her ilaç gibi istenmeyen etkileri de bulunmaktadır. Besin/ilaç ve ilaç/ilaç etkileşimleri bu istenmeyen etkilerin başında gelmektedir. Oluşan bu etkileşim sonucunda, kullanılan ilacın/besinin etkisi değişebileceği gibi oral kontraseptifin etkisi de azalabilmektedir. Ayrıca, bu etkileşim sonucunda, menstüral siklus kanamaları gibi çeşitli fizyolojik aktiviteleri de etkilenebilmektedir.Bu derlemede oral kontraseptifler ile oral kontraseptiflerin diğer ilaçlarla ve bitki-besinlerle etkileşimleri konusunda bilgiler değerlendirilmiştir.
