Abstract
Newborn babies have a thin, friable skin due to the immature development of the stratum corneum and this makes their skin particularly vulnerable to damage. This review provides information about the structure of newborn skin and identifies evidence to promote safe and effective skin care in the neonatal period.

Abstract
Yenidoğan bebeklerin derisi stratum korneumun henüz olgunlaşmamasına bağlı olarak ince ve hassastır. Bu özelliği nedeniyle hasarlara karşı savunmasızdır. Bu makalede yenidoğan derisinin yapısı ile ilgili bilgiler sunularak güvenli ve etkili deri bakımını destekleyen kanıtlar gözden geçirilmektedir.
