A view to lung metastases in the light of clinical experiences

Abstract

Metastases of the malignant tumors are related with their differentiation degrees. Primary tumors can be controlled locally with chemo/radiotherapy, but systemic metastases have some difficulties in treatment. Lung metastases also have exclusive pattern. Cure of the primary cancer and a long-term survival are the main purposes. If the primary cancer is under control and there is no spreading pulmonary metastasectomy is the curative treatment option in appropriate patients with low morbidity and mortality rates. We report our metastatic cases with a short literature review.

Klinik deneyim ile akciğer metastatik tümörlerine bakış

Abstract

Malign tümörler farklılaşma derecesine göre yayılma eğilimindedir. Primer odaklar cerrahi veya kemo/ radyoterapi ile lokal olarak kontrol altına alınabilir, ancak sistemik metastaz olması durumunda tedavi sıkıntılı olmaktadır. Akciğerin metastatik tümörleri, primer malign tümörün sistemik metastazının bir parçası olmakla birlikte sahip olduğu özellikleri ile ayrı olarak incelenmesi gereken bir konudur. Metastazların rezeksiyonunda iki ana amaç; hastalığın kürü ve hastalıksız yaşam süresinin uzatılmasıdır. Akciğer metastatik tümörlerinde primer malignite kontrol altında, başka yayılım yok ve hastanın genel durumu uygun ise metastazektomi düşük mortalite ile güvenle uygulanabilen potansiyel olarak küratif bir tedavi şeklidir. Kliniğimizde bu düşünce ile uygun hastalarda yaptığımız metastazektomileri genel bilgiler ışığında sunmayı amaçladık.
