Review process

Articles submitted to the Maltepe Medical Journal will go through a double-blind peer-review process. Each submission will be reviewed by two independent reviewers who are experts in their fields to ensure an unbiased review process.

The Editor-in-Chief and Field Editor are the final authorities in the decision-making process for all submissions. After the article is submitted, the relevant article is reviewed by the editors in terms of writing rules. The first review period is 15 (fifteen) days. If the article is decided suitable, it is sent to the reviewers for further evaluation.

Reviewers are given a period of 15 (fifteen) days for their evaluation.

When the referee opinions are forwarded to the Section Editor;

    a. If both referees are of the opinion of PUBLISHABLE, the article is put in order for publication.

    b. If the referees have completely opposing views for the same article, if deemed necessary by the Editorial Board, the article can be sent to a third referee and a decision     may be made in line with the opinion of the third referee.

    c. If one of the referees is of the opinion that the correction can be conditionally PUBLISHED, the conditional opinion is conveyed to the author. After the correction is     received, the corrected text is sent to the relevant referee.

    d. If both referees are of the opinion that it CANNOT BE PUBLISHED, the Section Editor informs the corresponding author about the rejection of the article.
