Laboratuar çalışmalarında, Shore D sertlik değerlerinin belirlenmesinde emeği geçen sayın Doç. Dr. Ümit Ayata’ya teşekkür ederim.
The production and use of wood plastic composites (WPCs) has increased rapidly since the day they were developed. Today, we see that wood plastic composites are used in different environments. While producing wood plastic composites, wood flour and a polymer are mixed in certain proportions and passed through the extruder machine. Then, it is given its final shape by using one of the extrusion, injection, rotation or flat pressing methods. In this study, wood plastic composite sheets were produced by flat pressing method without using an extruder machine. In the study, linear low density polyethylene in powder form used in rotation molding was used. Pine wood flour in 60 mesh size was used as filler. The rate of wood flour in composite boards is set as 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%. Density, modulus of rupture, modulus of elasticity in bending, maximum deformation in bending, tensile strength, modulus of elasticity at tensile strength, maximum elongation at break and Shore D hardness values of these composites were determined. Load-deformation graphs were obtained with the data obtained during the bending and tensile tests. According to the available data; it was determined that as the percentage of wood flour in the composite boards increased, the density, bending strength and modulus of elasticity increased, but the amount of elongation at break decreased.
