Abstract

Wallersrein kapiralist dünya sistemini ve bu sistemin kurulmasına hizmet eden sosyal bilimleri
sorgulayan çağdaş teorisyenlerdendir. Kapitalist sistemin önümüzdeki elli sene içinde yeni bir
sisteme doğru evrileceğini öngören Wallerstein mevcut bilimsel paradigmayla istenir istikamette
bir deği§im yapılamayacağını, dolayısıyla bilgi yapılarının da değişmesi gerektiğini ileri sürmektedir.
Sosyal bilimler arasındaki ayırımların kalktığı ve gerektiğinde değer yargılarının da i§in içine
katıldığı çok yönlü bir bilimsel etkinlik taraftarıdır. Wallersrein'ın bu düşünceleri bu gün için sadece
bir öngörüden ibaret olmasına rağmen, yine de modern bilimsel söylemin sorgulanmasına ve
disiplinler arası ve karşıla§tırmalı araştırmaların yaygınlık kazanmasına hizmet etınektedir.

Abstract
Wallerstein is a contemporary rheorist who quesrions the capitalisr world-system and the social
sciences that seı;ve the establishment of the capitalist system. Fareseeing that the capitalist system
will evolve into a new system within the nexr fifry years, Wallerstein thinks that the prevailing
scientific paradigm cannot bring a desired change, so according to him the scientific structures
should also be changed for the sake of the esrablishment of a new system. He advocates the
abolishment of the differentiations between the social sciences; and he also recommends a multidirectional
scientific activiry open to value judgments where necessary. Despite the facr that these
argumeıi.rs are just a fareseeing for the rime being, Wallerstein's opinions help question the
modern scientific discourse and serve the prevalence of inter-disciplinary and coınparative studies.
