Abstract

Sakarya University Faculty of Theology, Department of Religious Education, Prof. Dr. This study, written by Hasan Meydan, looks at the postmodern climate prevailing all over the world and in our country, from the point of view of an educator in general and a "religious educator" in particular. In this context, it sheds light on where issues such as society, epistemology, ethics, morality, pedagogy as well as religion and value stand in the life of the postmodern individual in the globalizing world comparatively in the traditional, modern and postmodern trilogy. While doing this, it makes use of the theoretical resources of postmodern thought and aims to present the evaluations on the subject with a holistic perspective. In addition to this general goal, it also aims to inform religious educators about the opportunities and difficulties they will encounter in the postmodern world. In his book, Teaching Religion and Values ​​in a Postmodern Climate, Meydan takes advantage of the theoretical sources of postmodern thought and aims to present the evaluations on the subject with a holistic perspective. In the field of values ​​education, Prof. Dr. It is known that Hasan Meydan also has other works published in various years. This work is a comprehensive study on the relationship between values ​​education and postmodern thought. In other words, the author, in this work, which we have examined along with his other works on the subject, deals with the issue from the point of view of the postmodern climate and seems to shed light on the issue from this point of view. After the introduction, the book tries to deal with the issue under five main headings. In these titles, it covers many topics from human search for meaning in the context of postmodernity to epistemology, from postmodern pedagogy to discussions on religion and ethics. The target audience of the work is people who want to read in the field of postmodern thought and religion and values ​​in general, and religious educators in particular. The study fills an important gap in its field, considering that although postmodern thought has rebuilt our education programs, this situation has not been examined holistically.

Abstract

Sakarya Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi Din Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı öğretim üyelerinden Prof. Dr. Hasan Meydan’ın kaleme aldığı bu çalışma, tüm dünyada ve ülkemizde hâkim olan postmodern iklime genelde bir eğitimci özelde ise bir “din eğitimcisi” nazarından bakmaktadır. Bu bağlamda geleneksel, modern ve postmodern üçlemesinde karşılaştırmalı olarak gerek toplum, epistemoloji, etik, ahlak, pedagoji gibi hususların gerekse din ve değer konularının küreselleşen dünyada postmodern bireyin hayatında nerede durduğuna ışık tutmaktadır. Bunu gerçekleştirirken de postmodern düşüncenin teorik kaynaklarından yararlanmakta ve konuyla ilgili değerlendirmeleri bütüncül bir perspektifle sunmayı hedeflemektedir. Bu genel hedefinin yanı sıra din eğitimcilerini söz konusu postmodern dünyada karşılaşacakları imkân ve zorluklar noktasında da haberdar etme gayesindedir. Postmodern İklimde Din ve Değerleri Öğretmek isimli eserinde Meydan, postmodern düşüncenin teorik kaynaklarından yararlanmakta ve konuyla ilgili değerlendirmeleri bütüncül bir perspektifle sunmayı hedeflemektedir. Değerler eğitimi sahasında Prof. Dr. Hasan Meydan’ın çeşitli yıllarda yayınlanmış başka eserlerinin de mevcut olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu eser ise, değerler eğitimi ve postmodern düşünce ilişkisini kaleme aldığı kapsamlı bir çalışmadır. Başka bir ifadeyle yazar, konuyla ilgili diğer çalışmalarının yanı sıra incelediğimiz bu eserinde meseleyi postmodern iklim nazarından ele alıyor ve meseleye bir de bu yönden ışık tutuyor görünmektedir. Kitap giriş bölümünün ardından beş ana başlıkta meseleyi ele almaya çalışmaktadır. Bu başlıklarda postmodernite bağlamında insanın anlam arayışından epistemolojiye, postmodern pedagojiden din ve etik konusundaki tartışmalara kadar pek çok konuya yer vermektedir. Eserin hedef kitlesi genel anlamda postmodern düşünce ve din ve değer alanında okuma yapmak isteyen kimseler özelde ise din eğitimcileridir. Çalışma, postmodern düşüncenin eğitim programlarımızı yeniden inşa etmiş olmasına karşın bu durumun bütüncül olarak incelenmediği düşüncesinden hareketle kendi sahasında önemli bir açığı gidermektedir.
