KSENOBİYOTİKLERİN DNA ÜZERİNDEKİ TOKSİK ETKİLERİ VE TOKSİKOGENETİK

Abstract

Canlıların genetik materyaline birçok faktör etki ederek mutasyonlara neden olmaktadır. Toksik ajanların, DNA’ya etkisini veya DNA’daki farklılıkların toksik ajanların toksikokinetiğine etkisini inceleyen bilim dalı Toksikogenetik olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Besinler, ilaçlar, çevresel ve endüstriyel ksenobiyotikler ve daha birçok madde DNA’ya toksik olarak etkimekte, mutasyonlara ve teratojen etkilere neden olabilmektedir. Kişilerdeki polimorfik farklılıklara bağlı olarak bu mutajenlere verilen cevap bireyden bireye değişiklik gösterebilmektedir. Toksik maddelerin etkilerine karşı verilen cevapta bireysel farklılığın, özellikle insan genom projesinden sonra genetik olarak taşınan özelliklere bağlı olduğu bilgisiyle, toksikogenetik çalışmalar hız kazanmıştır. Günümüzde gerek hastalıklar ve genetik ilişkileri, gerekse hastalıkların tedavisindeki yaklaşımlar ve bireysel ilaç kullanımı gibi birçok alanla ilgili toksikogenetik araştırmalar yapılmaktadır.
