Hemşirelikte Önemli Bir Değer: Nezaket

Abstract

Toplumsal ilişkilerin temelini oluşturan iletişim sürecinin sağlıklı yürütülebilmesi için en önemli unsurlarından birisi nezakettir. Genel olarak başkalarına karşı saygılı ve kibar davranma; naziklik şeklinde tanımlanan nezaket, insanlar arası ilişkilerde ahlaki standartlarda ince, zarif ve ölçülü olmaktır. İnsanlar arası iletişimin en hassas olduğu alanlardan birisi sağlık hizmetlerinin sunulduğu kurumlarıdır. Sağlık hizmetlerinin sunumunda hasta/hasta yakınları ile en fazla iletişim halinde olan meslek grubu hemşirelerdir. Bu nedenle hemşirelerin hasta/hasta yakınları ile iletişim kurarken nezaketli bir dil kullanması ve nezaketli davranışlarda bulunması önem arz etmektedir. Nezaket hastalar için; hemşire ile sağlık kurumuna güven ve memnuniyet sağlarken, hemşireler için mesleki doyum, bilişsel işlevlerini ve dolayısıyla karar alma, yaratıcı problem çözme ve şefkat ve ilgi gösterme yeteneklerini etkiler. Saygısız bir şekilde konuşma veya eylem olarak tanımlanan nezaketsiz davranışlar ise, kişinin özgüvenini zedeleyebilecek ve kişinin kendisinden veya diğerlerinden şüphe etmesine neden olabilecek küfürlü sözler, sözlü taciz ve şiddet içeren söz ve davranışlardır. Nezaketsizlik ve nezaketsizlik ile ilgili istenmeyen davranışlar strese ve tükenmişliğe neden olur. Aynı zamanda nezaketsiz davranışların güvenli olmayan çalışma koşullarına, tıbbi maliyetlerin artmasına, bakım kalitesinin, hasta güvenliğinin ve iş tatmininin azalmasına yol açabilir. Tüm bunların yanında nezaketsiz davranışlar hemşirelik meslek değeri üzerinde de olumsuz bir etkiye sahiptir. Nezaketsizliğin azaltılması hem hastalar hem de hemşireler için daha iyi bir iletişim, memnuniyet, daha az maaliyet ve optimum sağlık sonuçlarını destekler. Literatürde hemşirelik ve nezaket konusunda çok az çalışmaya rastlanıldı. Bundan dolayı bu çalışma hemşirelik ve nezaket konusunda literatürdeki çalışmaları derleyip farkındalık oluşturması amaçlanmıştır.
