The aim of the present study is to determine the thoughts of the 3rd and 4th grade students at the accounting departments of Applied Sciences Academies in the Aegean Region on accounting education, accounting proficiency and their own career plans. 351 students from Afyon Kocatepe University Bolvadin Applied Sciences Academy Accounting Department, Dumlupınar University Applied Sciences Accounting Department and Uşak University Applied Sciences Academy Accounting Information were involved in the study. Questionnaire technique was used in the study and the questions were requested to be answered according to quintet Likert Scale. The gathered data was analysed with the help of SPSS 15.0 packet programme. At the end of the study, it was found out that most of the students came from trade vocational high schools, they are satisfied with their present department and they want to go on their education at the same field after they graduate. Besides, it was detected that male students state that the education they have been taking is important for their professional career more often than female students. It came in view that female students who want to be financial consultant after graduation and apprenticeship training are more than male students.
Bu çalışmanın amacı; Ege Bölgesi’nde eğitim veren Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi Bolvadin Uygulamalı Bilimler Yüksekokulu Muhasebe bölümü, Dumlupınar Üniversitesi Uygulamalı Bilimler Yüksekokulu Muhasebe bölümü ve Uşak Üniversitesi Uygulamalı Bilimler Yüksekokulu Muhasebe Bilgi Sistemleri bölümlerinde öğrenim gören 3. ve 4. Sınıf öğrencilerinin muhasebe eğitimi, muhasebe mesleği ve kendi kariyer planları üzerine düşüncelerini belirlemektir. Çalışmanın sonucunda, öğrencilerin büyük çoğunluğunun ek puan alarak ticaret meslek liselerinden geldiği, okudukları bölümden memnun oldukları ve mezuniyet sonrası büyük oranda eğitimlerine aynı alanda devam etmek istedikleri belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca erkek öğrencilerin kız öğrencilere oranla almış oldukları eğitimin mesleki kariyerleri açısından daha önemli olduğunu belirttikleri tespit edilmiş olup, mezun olduktan sonra stajını tamamlayıp mali müşavir olmak isteyen kız öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilere göre daha fazla oldukları ortaya çıkmıştır.
