Abstract
Covid-19, that was recognized as a pandemic in March 2020, has seriously affected the tourism sector. Tourism firms faced more risks, especially the going concern risk. We aim to examine the pandemic related risk disclosures in depth. We studied the financial reports of the eleven tourism companies traded on the BIST. We analyzed available information, and classified and compared risk disclosures as before and after the pandemic. Our findings show that companies faced more risks during the pandemic period, and the number of risk disclosures increased. Similarly, the types of risks disclosed before and during the pandemic period are different.
