In today’s world, sport especially football is a very important social activity field which affects individuals and society. Violence and violence in sport is a socially problematic field which all society should fight against.Identification of the source of the violence in sport helps us understand the problem. There are a number of sociological, physiological, economic, cultural, political and social reasons which give rise to violence in sport. Gender, sport supporters and mass media play an important role in occurrence of violence in sport. For this reason, elaboration on how gender, sport supporters and mass media cause violence in sport, especially in football makes it easy to find the solution of the problem. In addition, national and international legislative provisions have been enacted for prevention of violence in sport. Knowing these provisions offers us a perspective with regard to what has been put in place in legal field as well as to what has to be put in place. Finally, efforts should start to grasp the outlook for formation of the sense of determination, which is the most important physiological factor, in order to effectively fight against violence in sport. In addition, multi-dimensional activities should be carried out. This seems to be the sole way to attain the goal pursued. In this paper, we elaborate what the increasing violence in sport, especially in football, which started to have caused invincible wounds in fractions of society, refers to, its source, reasons, legal provisions adopted for fight against it and solution proposals. It is our hope that this paper would make a modest contribution to understanding the problem and finding it solution
