Due to the difficulty of diagnosing of vascular injury in childhood, some cases may be missed. These cases may develop symptoms in adulthood and treatment may be delayed. In children, it is emphasized that blunt or penetrating trauma to the extremities may result in vascular injury, therefore angiography should be considered as adiagnostictool. A 24 year old man with monoparesis accompanied with muscle atrophy in his right leg, following a penetrating trauma to right popliteal region 17 years ago at age 7 is discussed in view of the current literature.
