Hypoparatyroidsm can be associated with calcification of basal ganglia. Extensive intracerebral calcification extending into subcortical white matter, is however rarely seen in hypoparatyroidism. A 20-year-old female who presented with unexplained seizures underwent computerized tomography (CT) examination. CT showed extensive paranchymal calcification, which lead to a diagnosis of iatrogenic hypoparathyroidism. The radiological findings and differential diagnosis of intracerebral calcifications were discussed.
