Abstract

The vast majority of mediastinal and anterior localized tumors are thymomas. Although thymomas are in epithelial type tumors, they might have malign potential and they could local invasion, plevral dissemination and distant metastasis. Though a great many of thymomas are anterior mediastinal localized, they can be ectopic localized.

Abstract

ÖZET:

Mediastinal yerleşimli tümörlerin ve anterior yerleşimli tümörlerin büyük çoğunluğunu timus ile ilgili patolojiler oluşturmaktadır (1). Timomalar; epitelyal tipte bir tümör olmasına karşılık malign potansiyeline de sahip olabilmektedir. Lokal invazyon, plevral inseminasyon ve uzak organ metastazı yapabilmektedir. Ancak bu patolojilerin bir çoğu anterior mediastende olabileceği gibi ektopik yerleşimlide olabilmektedir (2).
