Aim: The study aims to determine the factors affecting moral sensitivity and compassion fatigue of non-physician health professionals working in home health care units. Method: This descriptive study was conducted with 85 non-physician health professionals (nurse/health officer, midwife, ATT, home health technician, elderly care technician) working in the Black Sea Region Home Health Services. Data were collected online using a descriptive questionnaire, "Compassion Fatigue Short Scale" and "Moral Sensitivity Scale" in the online environment. In the evaluation of the data, SPSS 20.0 package program and number, percentage, t test, Mann Whitney U, ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis H tests were used. Ethics committee permission, institutional permission and written consent were obtained from the participants within the scope of the study. Results: 69.4% of health workers are women, 63.5% are married, 55.3% have children, 57.6% have undergraduate and 3.5% graduate education, 51.8% are nurse health/officer. While the participants' compassion fatigue scale mean score was 31.81±26.83, the moral sensitivity scale mean score was 143.63±34.07, and it was determined that there was a weak positive relationship between them (r:0.312; p<0.05). While there was a statistically significant difference between the health professionals' presence of children, willingness to choose the profession and experiencing ethical dilemmas and compassion fatigue (p<0.05), no significant difference was found between moral sensitivity scale and descriptive findings (p>0.05). Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was found that health professionals working in home care services have below moderate compassion fatigue and low level of moral sensitivity. It has been determined that there is a positive relationship between compassion fatigue and moral sensitivities.
Amaç: Çalışmada evde sağlık hizmetleri birimlerinde görev yapan hekim dışı sağlık profesyonellerinin ahlaki duyarlılık ve merhamet yorgunluğu ile etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Yöntem: Bu çalışma tanımlayıcı türde olup Karadeniz Bölgesi Evde Sağlık Hizmetlerinde çalışan 85 hekim dışı sağlık profesyoneli (hemşire/sağlık memuru, ebe, ATT, evde sağlık teknikeri, yaşlı bakım teknikeri) ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler tanımlayıcı soru formu, ‘’Merhamet Yorgunluğu Kısa Ölçek’’ ve ‘’Ahlaki Duyarlılık Ölçeği’’ kullanılarak online ortamda Google form ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde SPSS 20.0 paket programı ile sayı, yüzde, t testi, Mann Whitney U, ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis H testleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında etik kurul izni, kurum izni ve katılımcılardan yazılı onam alınmıştır. Bulgular: Sağlık çalışanlarının %69.4’ü kadın, %63.5’i evli, %55.3’ü çocuk sahibi, %57.6’sı lisans ve %3.5’i lisansüstü eğitim düzeyine sahip, %51.8’i hemşire sağlık/memurudur.
