Aim: In cases of severe nasal deformities and revision rhinoplasty, when the cartilage reserve in the nose is insufficient, revision is performed using costal cartilage grafts. Costal cartilage grafts may be used as columellar struts, alar rim grafts, spreader grafts, onlay-tip grafts, or as diced cartilage or blocks for dorsum augmentation. In this study, we aimed to present the outcomes of revision rhinoplasty performed using autologous costal cartilage grafts. Method: A total of 20 patients who underwent open revision rhinoplasty with costal cartilage grafting were included in the study. Demographic data, complications, follow-up durations, and patient satisfaction levels were retrospectively.analyzed Results: Of the patients 85% (n=17) were female, and 15% (n=3) were male. The mean age of patients was 30.7±8.42 (range 21-54). The mean follow-up period was 16±3.09 (12-22) months. Patient-reported outcomes were gradedas very good, good, fair, and poor. Eleven patients rated the results as very good, six as good, two as fair, and one as poor. Two patients required secondary revision surgery. One patient underwent rasping under local anesthesia due to irregularity of the nasal dorsum. The other patient underwent revision with another costal cartilage graft due to decreased tip support and lysis of the cartilages placed in the dorsum. No other complications were observed. Conclusion: Autologous costal cartilage is an important cartilage reserve in revision rhinoplasty. Donor site morbidity is low, and satisfactory aesthetic and functional outcomes can be achieved when used in appropriately selected patients.
Bulgular: Hastaların %85'i (n=17) kadın, %15'i (n=3) erkekti.
