Abstract
Today, there seems to be an intense interest among Turkish readers in the literature of philosophy of mind, especially through translations. The translation of Nicholas Humphrey's work titled "Soul Dust: The Magic of Consciousness" is a continuation of this interest. This book takes the reader on a historical journey about the role of consciousness in the evolutionary process. While doing this, it tries to find answers to the questions of "why" and "how" and attempts to reveal what kind of a final and naturalistic definition should be. This book review concludes that the work presents attention-grabbing discussions both for experts in the field and for general readers.

Kitap İncelemesi: Nicholas Humphrey’in ‘Ruh Tozu: Bilincin Büyülü Evreninde Bir Keşif Yolculuğu’ Adlı Eserinin İncelemesi
Abstract
Türkçe zihin felsefesi literatürüne günümüzde özellikle çeviriler üzerinden yoğun bir ilginin oluştuğu görülmektedir. Nicholas Humphrey’nin “Ruh Tozu: Bilincin Büyülü Evreninde Bir Keşif Yolculuğu” adlı eseri de bu ilginin devamı niteliğindedir. Eser bilincin evrimsel süreç içindeki rolüne dair okuyucuyu tarihsel bir yolculuğa çıkarıyor. Bunu yaparken “niçin” ve “nasıl” sorularına da cevap bulmaya çalışarak nihai ve natüralist bir tanımın ne türde olması gerektiğini ortaya koyma teşebbüsünde bulunuyor. Bu kitap incelemesi sözü edilen eserin hem ilgili alanın uzmanları için hem de genel okuyucular için dikkat çekici tartışmalar ortaya koyduğu sonucuna ulaşmaktadır.
