The following points must be observed when preparing manuscripts to be submitted to Marmara Journal of Philosophy:

Style and Format

1. Papers submitted for consideration by Marmara Journal of Philosophy must be written in an appropriate academic language, must have a clearly defined theoretical and methodological background, and these points must be expressed systematically within the text. Manuscripts must be submitted in accordance with the template provided above.
2. Manuscripts must include the following sections: Turkish title, English title, Turkish abstract of 200–250 words, English abstract of 200–250 words, five Turkish keywords, five English keywords, introduction, conceptual background, method, analysis/discussion of findings, conclusion, and references. For manuscripts written in Turkish, an English extended abstract of 750–1000 words summarizing the conceptual background and findings of the study must be included. The extended abstract must appear after the references.
3. Articles derived from theses may be submitted to Marmara Journal of Philosophy. As with other papers, the publication of such articles depends on peer review reports and the editor’s decision. Reviewers or the editor may request revisions to the paper. In order for articles derived from theses to be published, the requested revisions must be completed.
4. Review articles must not consist merely of a summary of the literature. Such studies must critically engage with the existing literature, discuss different methodological approaches, identify gaps, and offer suggestions for future research. 
5. Research notes are shorter and more focused academic studies that aim to encourage scholarly debate by offering an innovative perspective on existing research. These studies, which must not exceed 4000 words, generally do not include an extensive literature review and are structured around a shorter introduction, argument, analysis, and conclusion. They may include various forms of contribution, such as a new theoretical perspective, methodological advancement, alternative empirical findings, or comments on and extensions of existing studies. Research notes, which are subject to peer review, enable the rapid and effective dissemination of scientific knowledge while presenting the main ideas of the topic in a clear and comprehensible manner.
6. It is mandatory that the in-text citations and references of manuscripts be prepared in accordance with APA 7 using reference management tools such as EndNote or Microsoft Office Word. Manuscripts containing references and in-text citations that are not properly formatted, have been converted into static text, or have been created manually will be returned to the author.
7. The maximum word limit for articles is 8500 words, including the Turkish abstract, English abstract, keywords, footnotes, acknowledgements, and references. The English extended abstract required for Turkish manuscripts is excluded from this limit.
8. Papers may be submitted in Turkish or English.
9. Authors who intend to submit papers in English must obtain the necessary proofreading support and submit their texts to the journal with proper language and expression. English papers that do not meet the required standards of language and expression are not taken into the publication process and are returned.
10. The maximum word limit for reviews and commentaries is 3000 words, including footnotes and references.
11. Authors who wish to contribute to Marmara Journal of Philosophy must upload the following documents to the manuscript submission section on DergiPark within the specified submission period: (i) Cover Page, (ii) anonymized full text without author information, (iii) Copyright Agreement Form, (iv) Conflict of Interest Form, (v) Ethics Committee Statement, if required, and (vi) Author Declaration. In accordance with the criteria of TUBITAK ULAKBİM TR Dizin, ethics committee approval must also be obtained and uploaded to the system during manuscript submission for all research in which humans or animals are used as subjects or data sources. If ethics committee approval, where required, or any of the other forms is missing, the manuscript will be returned.
12. The “Author Declaration” document must be completed in Turkish for manuscripts written in Turkish and in English for papers written in English. Since declarations may affect the blind peer review process, for example by including project or thesis information, they must not be added to the anonymized manuscript file to be uploaded.
13. The style requirements that will ensure proper formatting of papers are as follows:

Font and Size: Papers must be written in Times New Roman, 12 fonts, with double line spacing.

Page Numbering: All pages must be numbered in the upper right-hand corner.

Paragraph Format: The first line of each paragraph must be indented by 1.27 cm (1/2 inch). No extra spacing should be left between paragraphs; double line spacing must be maintained throughout.

Preparation of In-Text Citations and References: It is mandatory that the in-text citations and references of manuscripts be prepared in accordance with APA 7 using reference management tools such as EndNote or Microsoft Office Word.
