Essentials of psychopharmacology in treatment of bipolar disorder

Abstract

In this article, not only the importance of treatment of bipolar episodes but also aiming to prevent the relapses is discussed. Thus, it emphasises the prevention of exacerbation of disorder in time and permanent cognitive defects. In the latter part, the principles of pharmacologic treatment is adressed.

Öz

Bu makalede iki uçlu bozukluğun tedavisinde sadece atakların değil, nükslerin de önlenmesinin, amaçlanmasının önemine işaret edilmektedir. Böylece hastalığın gitgide şiddetlenmesinin ve de kalıcı bilişsel bozuklukların ortaya çıkışının engellenebileceği vurgulanmaktadır. Daha sonraki bölümde ise psikofarmakolojik tedavinin ilkeleri ele alınmaktadır.
