Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine whetherthe scent of students in Ostim Apprentice Training Center ATC changes by occupational factors and to determine the ways of prevention against the environmental factors those affect thescent. This comparative descriptive research’s universe is the 802 students from Ostim ATC. Thesample size was calculated with N= N. t2. p.q / d2. N-1 +t2. p.q formula and it was found tobe 250 students. A questionnaire, physical examination, and a smell test were applied to 71 students of 13-19 ages in a private high school to determine the smell threshold in this group of students who have no occupational risks. Of the 250students of 13-21 ages of Ostim ATC, %13.2 33students were younger than 15, %79.2 198 students were 15-19, and %7.6 19 students were20 years and older. All of the students were male.Of the students %22.4 56 students had beenworking in the engine division, and %21.6 54 students in the turnery division. Of the participants,%42.8 107 students were current smokers. Ofthe these students, %35.6 38 students had beensmoking for nearly one year and %96.2 103 students had been smoking a packet or less a day.The smell threshold scores of the 219 students %87.6 of Ostim ATC were 100 and over. There was no statistically significant relationbetween smell threshold scores and having a earnose-neck operation, complaint of smell, or having purulent noseflow p>0.05 . Of the 71 students of 13-19 age group in theprivate high school, %16.9 12 students were under 15 years old whereas %83.1 59 students were between 15-19 ages age mean=16 . Of thesestudents, %50.7 36 students were male, and%49.3 35 students were female. Of the studens,%19.7 14 students were current smokers. Abstract
Bu çalışmada, çıraklarda mesleğe bağlı koku duyusunda bir değişiklik olup olmadığının saptanması ve koku duyusunu etkileyen çevresel faktörlerden korunma yollarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Karşılaştırmalı tanımlayıcı bir araştırmadır. Ostim Çıraklık Eğitim Merkezi’nde OÇEM eğitim gören 802 öğrenci araştırmanın evrenini oluşturmaktadır. N= N.t2. p.q / d2. N-1 +t2. p.q formülü ile örneklem büyüklüğü 250 öğrenci olarak hesaplanmıştır. Bir özel lisede okuyan 13-19 yaş grubundaki 71 öğrenciye anket, fizik muayene ve koku testi uygulanarak; mesleki risk taşımayan bu öğrencilerdeki koku eşiği de saptanmıştır.OÇEM’de eğitim gören 13-21 yaş grubu 250 öğrencinin 33’ü %13.2 15 yaş ve altı, 198’i %79.2 15-19 yaş grubunda, 19’u %7.6 ise 20 yaş ve üzerinde bulunmuştur. Bu öğrencilerin tamamı erkeklerden oluşmaktadır. OÇEM’de eğitim gören öğrencilerin %22.4 56 kişi motor bölümünde, %21.6 54 kişi torna işlerinde çalışmaktadır. Katılımcıların 107’si %42.8 sigara içmekte, sigara içenlerin 38’i %35.6 bir yıldan beri sigara içmekte, 103’ü %96.2 ise günde bir paket veya daha az sigara içmektedir. Çıraklık okulu öğrenci lerinin 219’unun %87.6 koku eşik değeri >100 olarak bulunmuştur. Kulak-burun-boğaz ameliyatı geçirme, koku yakınması, pürülan akıntı olması ile koku eşiği değeri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki bulunamamıştır p>0.05 . Özel lisede 13-19 yaş grubundaki 71 öğrencinin 59’u %83.1 15-19 yaş grubunda, 12’si %16.9 15 yaş altında yaş ortalaması=16 , 36’sı %50.7 erkek, 35’i %49.3 kadındır. Bu öğrencilerin 14’ü %19.7 sigara içmektedir. Erkeklerin %25’i 9 kişi , kadınların ise %14.7’si 5 kişi sigara içmektedir. Lisede eğitim gören 71 öğrencinin %94.4’ünün 67 kişi koku eşik değeri >100 olarak belirlenmiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Çıraklık eğitim merkezi, koku duyusu, koku eşik değeri, mesleksel etmenler
