Toplumdilbilimin Dil Öğretimiyle İlişkisi Üzerine

Abstract

Toplumsal yaşamda, dil ve toplum bireylerin hayatında belirleyici role sahiptir. Dil öğretimi, Toplumdilbilim ile birçok yönden ilişkilidir. Toplumdilbilim’in temel iddiası, ‘‘dilin çeşitli olduğu ve sürekli değiştiği’’ tezine dayanmaktadır. Dil öğretiminde, öğretilen kayıt (resmi dil) ile öğrenilen kayıt (kullanılan dil) arasında oluşan farklar, öğreticinin toplumdilbilimsel farkındalığı nispetinde öğretilebilir. Toplumdilbilim ile dil öğretimi arasında ne gibi ilişkiler kurularak, ne gibi katkılar sunabileceğini, dili iletişimsel yeterlik, toplumsal ve kültürel bağlamları ile sınıf, yaş, cinsiyet, etnik köken gibi sosyal etkenlerle ilişkilendirmek suretiyle ele alıp incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışma, Toplumdilbilim konuları ile dil öğretimi arasındaki ilişkinin nasıl kurulabileceğini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmış, tarama, derleme ve gözlem yöntemlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Dil öğretiminde anadil veya ikinci/yabancı dil edinimi veya öğretiminde rol oynayan durum, bağlam, ortam ve sosyal etkenler ile dil seçimlerini etkileyen temel faktörleri tanımak ve çağdaş dil öğretim ortamlarında nasıl kullanılabileceğini değerlendirmeye çalışmıştır.

On the Relationship of Sociolinguistics to Language Teaching

Abstract

In social life, language and society have a decisive role in the life of individuals. Language teaching is related to sociolinguistics in many ways. The basic claim of sociolinguistics is based on the thesis that "language is diverse and constantly changing". In language teaching, the differences between the taught record (official language) and the learned record (the language used) can be taught in proportion to the sociolinguistic awareness of the instructor. It has been tried to examine what kind of relations it can make between sociolinguistics and language teaching by associating it with communicative competence, social and cultural contexts and social factors such as class, age, gender, ethnicity. This study aims to examine the relationship between sociolinguistics topics and language teaching. In this study, descriptive research method was used, scanning, compilation and observation methods were used. It has tried to recognize the situation, context, environment and social factors that play a role in the acquisition or teaching of mother tongue or second / foreign language in language teaching and the main factors affecting language choices and to evaluate how it can be used in contemporary language teaching environments.
