INVESTIGATION OF PAPERS ACCORDING TO OPTICAL AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES USING MULTI-CRITERIA DECISION-MAKING METHOD

Abstract

In this study, using the multi-criteria decision-making mechanism PROMETHEE method, a decision-making mechanism is created for the most suitable paper selection according to some optical and physical properties of the papers. Within the scope of the study, 80 g/m² high grade papers obtained from 5 different companies are used. The optical and physical properties of these papers are measured in the laboratory environment and the most suitable paper is selected by using the multi-criteria decision-making method. By using this method, the situations where the decision makers are undecided in the selection of paper became meaningful. By using this method, the most suitable paper can be selected in cases where there is uncertainty in both the paper and printing sector, and this method can be used by all companies that appeal to this sector. This study, which may attract the attention of many companies for the paper industry, has the potential to shed light on the studies in the field of decision making.
