KÜRESEL İKLİM DEĞİŞİKLİĞİNİN İNTERNET HABERLERİNDE ÇERÇEVELENMESİ

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı internette okunan haberlerde
küresel iklim değişikliğine yönelik haberlerin nasıl çerçevelendiğini inceleyip
bunun kamuoyundaki risk algısı ile ilişkisinin nasıl olabileceğini
tartışmaktır. Bu amaçla 20-27 Mart 2018 tarihleri arasında Google News
sitesinde “küresel ısınma “ ve “iklim değişikliği” kodlarıyla aratılan 41 haber
incelenmiştir. MAXQDA 18 programı kullanılarak çerçeve ve içerik analizi
yapılmıştır. Bunun sonucunda haberlerin felaket beklentisi odaklı olduğu ve
daha çok bireysel çözümler ortaya koyduğu gözlenmiştir. Bu da haberlerin
tutarsız algılanmasına yol açıyor olabilir, bu sebepten daha geniş ölçekte ve
kapsamlı bir çerçeve kurulabilir.

FRAMING CLIMATE CHANGE NEWS ON INTERNET MEDIA

Abstract

This study aims to identify how online news frame climate change and argue the relations between these frames and risk perception of public. In order to collect data, “climate change” and “global warming” phrases were searched on Google news website between 20-27th of March 2018. 41 news from different websites were identified. The news were analysed by using MAXQDA 18. Results showed that the news use catasthropic future expectations and indiviual responsobility frame more than the other frames. This situation might lead to confusion, because if the future is that in darkness, how only individual level action prompts as the main solution. Therefore, broader frames can be more helpful to raise public awareness.
