AVRUPA'DA VE TÜRKİYE'DE SOSYAL TURİZM

Abstract

Sosyal turizm, kökenleri geçmişe dayanmakla birlikte yakın dönemde anlamı ve önemi daha iyi anlaşılan ve günümüzde hızla gelişen bir turizm türüdür. Çalışan kitlelerin yoğun çalışma şartları nedeniyle sürekli etkisi altında bulundukları psikolojik ve fiziksel baskı tatile olan ihtiyacı kuvvetlendirmektedir.Günümüzde turistik hareketler, satın alma gücü yüksek olan bireylerin, turizm hareketlerine katılmaları şeklinde gerçekleşen ayrıcalıklı yapıdan sıyrılarak, “dezavantajlı bireyler” in de çeşitli kolaylıklarla turizm hareketlerine katılmalarına imkân verecek araçlar peşindedir. Bu bağlamda, sosyal turizm, turizme katılım hakkının sağlanmasında ihtiyaç duyulan imkanlardan birisi olarak gözükmektedir. Nitekim, 1950’li ve 1960’lı yıllardan itibaren hız kazanmaya başlayan sosyal turizm, çerçevesi iyi belirlenmiş sosyal yöntemler sayesinde, nüfusun “düşük gelirli” kesimlerinin turizme iştirak etmesinden doğan tüm kavram ve olaylar olarak tanımlanabilir. Sosyal turizm kapsamında, engelliler, gençler, çocuklar, yoksullar ve öğrenciler öncelikli hedef grupları oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada sosyal turizm, çocuklar ve gençler açısından ele alınmakta; Avrupa’da yürütülmekte olan başarılı örnekler tanıtılmakta ve ülkemizin bu alandaki pozisyonu tartışılmaktadır.

Social Tourism in Europe and Turkey

Abstract

ract Social tourism is a type of tourism which has recently become much more important and it is growing fast today though its origins date back. Psychological and physical pressure that the working people are largely exposed due to hard working conditions increases the need for holiday. Today, touristic activities seek possibilities that facilitate ‘disadvantaged individuals’ participate tourism activities with various opportunities by leaving the exclusive structure in which only well off individuals can participate. In this context, social tourism appears to be one of the opportunities required for fair participation in tourism. Thus, social tourism, which started growing fast during 1950s and 1960s, by means of well-determined framework of social method can be defined as all concepts and activities arising from participation of ‘low income’ people. Within the scope of social tourism, the handicapped, teenagers, children, the poor and students constitute primary target group. This study takes up social tourism from the point of children and teenagers; introduces successful examples in Europe and discusses the position of our country
