Allianoi’de yapılan arkeolojik kazılar sayesinde ülkemiz, Bergama’nın yakınında ikinci bir sağlık merkezine daha kavuşmuştur. Böylece bölgenin ve Türkiye’nin önemini daha da arttırarak, Asklepieion kültürünün Anadolu’da yaygın olduğuna dair bir kanıt daha gün ışığına çıkarılmıştır. Allianoi’de yapılan bu kazı çalışmalarında tıp ta- rihine ışık tutacak Asklepios heykellerin yanı sıra, 400 civarında da tıbbi alet ve ecza kapları ele geçirilmiştir. Allianoi kurtarma kazılarına, Yortanlı Barajı’nın inşaatı sırasında Bergama Müzesi Müdürlüğü denetiminde 1994 yılında başlanmış ve 1998 yılından sonra Yar. Doç. Dr. Ahmet Yaraş’ın başkanlığında özverili bir çalışma gurubuyla devam edilmiştir. Ancak 2010 yılına kadar sürdürülen hukuk mücadelesine rağmen Allianoi, son olarak İzmir 2 Numaralı Kültür ve Tabiat Varlıkları Koruma Kurulu’nun kararıyla kumla kapatılmış ve 31 Aralık 2010 tarihinde baraj kapaklarının kapanmasıyla suya gömülmeye başlamıştır
Allianoi is located the northeast of the Pergamon-Ivrindi Highway which known as Pasha Spa in the region.
The ancient city of Allianoi was established the Hellenistic era (323-30 BC) and it is located in the middle of
the Yortanli dam today. The most brilliant period of Allianoi was the period of Hadrian (AD 117-138) in II. Century BC which established of large public works. It was used as a cult of health center that people have found
healing through hydrotherapy in ancient times.
This health center was uncovered as a second ancient center near the Pergamon to archaeological excavations. Thus, it is attract attention the importance of this region and has been a place that shows Asklepion cult
is widespread in Anatolia.
Some statues of Asklepios and 400 medical instruments and pharmaceutical containers were seized from the
excavation of Allianoi. These archological finds are important for the history of medicine.
Kemal Bey that he is governor of Pergamon revealed some of the spa in the area of Allianoi in 1904. In 1906,
the first serious scientific research was made by C. Schuchhardt that he was a member of Pergamon excavation team. The results of the first band was published the title given in detail as “Pasha Spa” in 1912. A. Phillippson have made detailed studies in the beginning of the twentieth century and his work result also pointed
out the Pasha spa. W. Radt Pergamon and his photographer E. Steiner visited the spa during excavation and
documented the status of spa each year. J. A Driehaus published detailed study about the environment of spa
in 1956.
