Digital Transformation in Carpet Manufacturing Processes: A Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Application in Order Entry
Abstract
In a highly competitive environment, businesses can only move one step ahead by adopting systems that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and prevent errors. In today’s era, where technology is advancing and development continues every day, companies that progress in line with change, keep up with modern requirements, and embrace a growth mindset stand out. One of the most important conditions for improving efficiency is to follow technological advancements and integrate technology across all areas of business. Especially in highly competitive industries such as the carpet sector, digital transformation emerges as a crucial area of focus. This study examines the automation of order entry steps in carpet manufacturing through RPA. Within the scope of the study, existing manual processes were analyzed, order forms were revised, and rule-based automation scenarios were developed using the Kofax RPA platform. The accuracy of the system was tested through pilot applications, and improvements were made based on user feedback. The results indicate that order entry time was reduced, error rates were minimized, and the need for manual intervention was eliminated. In this respect, the study provides a concrete example of the applicability of digital transformation in the carpet sector and contributes to the limited literature on RPA applications in manufacturing.
