Abstract

Venomous characteristics of Plotosus lineatus can cause some allergic reactions to fish stings. The striped eel catfish has potential risks in which migration route from the Indo-Pacific' to the Mediterranean Sea. Although these stings are often uncritical for the significant morbidity may result including severe pain, and other health problems. In this study, the first descriptive case on the harmful effect of the venomous Lessepsian migrant P. lineatus from the Iskenderun Bay, the Northeastern Mediterranean Sea.
