DEVELOPMENT OF SOFTWARE FOR PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF HIGH BYPASS TURBOFAN ENGINES

Abstract

In this paper, performance analysis (off-design) of high bypass turbofan engines with separate flow and no afterburning used in commercial aircraft was investigated and then thrust, specific fuel consumption, air mass flow rate, bypass ratio, corrected mass flow rate, fan and compressor pressure ratio of the engine were characterized in different altitudes and subsonic flight Mach numbers. A software program was developed in Visual Basic 6.0 programming language on this purpose. Some performance curves in the newly developed software program were explained in this paper.
