“Altın Damarı”, Yanan Günışığı ve Ay Vadisi’nde Jack London’ın ekolojik düşüncesinin gelişimi

Abstract

Edebiyat, derin ekoloji prensiplerine dayalı eko-eleştirel yaklaşımlar arasındaki pek çok yaklaşım içinden okunabilir. Derin ekoloji teorisyenleri ekolojiyi etik ile birleştirerek insanoğlunun doğayı tahrip etmesini dizginlerler. 1972’de Norveçli filozof Arne Naess, çok geçmeden Bill Devall, George Sessions ve diğerleri gibi Kuzey Amerika derin ekoloji destekçileri tarafından popülerleştirilen “Derin Ekoloji Hareketi” terimini türettiler. Derin ekoloji hareketinin kalbi, ilkin Arne Naess ve George Sessions tarafından 1984’te dile getirilen sekiz maddeli platform ilkeleridir. London, zamanında “derin ekoloji ilkelerini” duymamış olsa da, ekolojik düşüncesi o kadar çağdaş ki derin ekoloji ilkeleriyle tutarlıdır. Bu nedenle mevcut çalışma, derin ekolojik anlayışlara ve ilkelere dayanan bir eko-eleştiri çalışmasıdır.
