WWW and Social Constructivism: A New Opportunity For Teacher Education

Öz

WWW as a new opportunity is extended from trade to education. The growth of the internet and WWW, in particular, are attracting the attention of tertiary educational institutions worldwide. It's very important to benefit from this new medium for formal, in-service training or professional developments of teachers. In the search for an effective approach to Web learning, an re-examination of learning theory is required. This paper examines the three broad philophies of Behaviorism, Cognitive Theory and Constructivism and reviews their potential for delivering tertiary education via web. And this paper proposes a pragmatic approach to the implementation of Social Constructivist approaches.
