Abstract

Aim of this paper is to determine quantitatively the total and different uses of the word in 6th, 7th and 8th grades students' writings. In the study, descriptive survey method was adopted and qualitative research methods and content analysis were used. Population of the study is composed of students of 6th, 7th and 8th grades in Turkey. The sampling consists of 1726 students chosen by random sampling method out of 14 primary schools in seven different geographic regions. The data were collected through written papers and percentages based on the frequency and interpreted with the help of Simple Concordance Program 4.07. Finally, these qualitative results are used to develop suggestions.

İLKÖĞRETİM İKİNCİ KADEME ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN KELİME HAZİNESİ ÜZERİNE BİR DEĞERLENDİRME

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı ilköğretim 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin yazılı anlatımlarındaki toplam ve farklı kelime kullanımlarını nicel olarak ortaya koymaktır. Betimsel tarama modelinin benimsendiği bu araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemi ve içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini ilköğretim ikinci kademe öğrencileri oluştururken örneklemini tesadüfî olarak belirlenen her coğrafî bölgeden bir il merkezi ve bir ilçe merkezinde bulunan okullardaki 1.726 ilköğretim ikinci kademe öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Veriler yazılı anlatım uygulama kâğıtları vasıtasıyla toplanmış ve Simple Concordance Program 4.07 yardımıyla sıklık ve yüzdelikleri alınarak yorumlanmıştır. Son olarak elde edilen nicel veriler ışığında öneriler sunulmuştur.
