INVESTIGATION OF BENDING BEHAVIOUR OF TIMBER CONNECTION STRENGTHEN WITH CARBON FIBER BAR

Abstract

The natural factors were deformed the Timber structures in the historical process. The aim of this study is to obtain the fiber continuity of connecting places of timber structural elements of construction systems that under the bending conditions. Mechanical performances of the connecting places of fiber reinforced longitudinal notched lap joints have been investigated. Experimental specimens have been prepared from yellow pine timber which is very abundant in nature. To determine performances of the connections, 4 different types of adhesively bonded and strengthen with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP)bar, samples have been prepared. The specimens have been tested subjected to bending strength and the obtained results have been compared with massive samples and each others. The outcomes demonstrate that the bending strength of the connection points strengthen with CFRP bar has higher than adhesively bonded connection specimen about 380%.

Bu amaçla, fiberlerle güçlendirilmi? kertmeli boy birle?tirmelerin, birle?im bölgelerinin mekanik performanslary incelenmi?tir. Deney numuneleri do?ada bol miktarda bulunan ve ah?ap yapy uygulamalarynda yaygyn olarak kullanylan saryçamdan hazyrlanmy?tyr. Yapylan deney numunelerinin performans de?erlendirilmelerinin yapylabilmesi için ?ahit numunelerle birlikte, yapy?tyrmaly birle?tirme ve Karbon takviyeli plastiklerle (KTP) birle?tirme ?eklinde, 4 farkly tipte deney numuneleri hazyrlanmy? ve e?ilme deneyine tabi tutularak, elde edilen sonuçlar kar?yla?tyrylmy?tyr. Çaly?ma sonucunda, kertmeli boy birle?tirmede karbon elyaflarla güçlendirilmi? numunelerle, yapy?tyrylmy? birle?tirme numunelerinden % 380 daha yüksek e?ilme dayanymyna ula?ylmy?tyr.
