A PRACTICAL METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF THE PUSHOVER CURVES

Abstract

In recent years, performance analysis of the structures has become more of an issue, in parallel with the developments in earthquake engineering. Different types of methods are developed for the assessment of the performance of the structures under earthquake loads. Among these methods,due to being uncomplicated, nonlinear static analysis methods became prominent and took parts in Earthquake Codes. In nonlinear static analysis methods, pushover curve is used to identify the behavior of a structure. In this study a practical method for the determination of the pushover curves of multistory structures is suggested. In the study initially the method and the assumptions are presented afterwards examples are solved to investigate the reliability of the method. In the examples, static pushover curves are obtained by the proposed method and compared with the pushover curves which are obtained by detailed method. Comparison of the results indicates that the ones obtained by the presented method are in good agreement with the ones which are obtained by detailed method.

Deprem mühendisli?indeki geli?melere paralel olarak son yyllarda yapylaryn performansa dayaly analizi önem kazanmy?tyr.Yapylaryn deprem yükleri altyndaki performanslarynyn de?erlendirilmesi için farkly yöntemler geli?tirilmi?tir. Bu yöntemlerin arasynda karma?yk olmamasy nedeniyle do?rusal olmayan statik analiz yöntemi önem kazanmy? ve deprem yönetmeliklerinde yer almy?tyr. Do?rusal olmayan statik analize dayaly yöntemlerde yapynyn davrany?yny göstermek üzere statik itme e?risi kullanylmaktadyr. Bu çaly?mada çok katly yapylaryn statik itme e?risinin belirlenmesi için pratik bir yöntem önerilmi?tir. Çaly?mada öncelikle yöntem ve kabulleri sunulmu? ardyndan yöntemin geçerlili?ini ara?tyrmak üzere örnekler çözülmü?tür. Örneklerde çaly?mada sunulan yöntem ile elde edilen statik itme e?rileri detayly yöntem kullanylarak elde edilmi? olan statik itme e?rileri ile kar?yla?tyrylmy?tyr. Sonuçlaryn kar?yla?tyrylmasy sunulan yöntemden elde edilenler ile detayly yöntem ile elde edilenlerin uyum içinde oldu?unu göstermi?tir.
