In this paper, the GSM/SMS based automated irrigation control unit (ICU) as realized. This control unit is that can be adjusted with SMS, irrigated at tuned time and date, adapted irrigation time according to rain and sent information SMS to user. The ICU was tested in 1500m2 farms that stated in Urla village at Yzmir city between April and September month. This farm was irrigated between am 03:00 and 06:00 with two days interval. As a result of application, while irrigation had been previously performed according to daytime timetable of multi time timetable, irrigation was performed at night timetable and so the cost was decreased by %60 in electricity. Soil temperatures were low until the early hours, the plant were irrigated until necessity and the water saving was provided by 40% compared to the previous year. Also making irrigation controlled depending on the yield and quality of harvested product was increased.

Bu birim, kullanycy tarafyndan gönderilen SMS ile ayarlanabilen, istenen saat ve tarihlerde sulama yapabilen, ya?mur durumuna göre sulama zamanlaryny ayarlayan ve kullanycyya durum hakkynda bilgilendirme mesajlary gönderebilen bir kontrol birimidir. Uygulama sonucunda çok zamanly tarifenin gündüz tarifesine göre sulama yapylan bahçe, SKB aracyly?yyla çok zamanly tarifenin gece tarifesine göre sulanabildi?inden kullanylan elektrik maliyetleri %60 azalmy?tyr. Toprak sycakly?ynyn dü?ük oldu?u sabah erken saatlerde bitkinin ihtiyacy kadar sulama yapyldy?ynda bir önceki seneye göre %40 oranynda su tasarrufu sa?lanmy?tyr. Ayryca sulamanyn kontrollü yapylmasyna ba?ly olarak hasat edilen ürünün verim ve kalitesi artyrylmy?tyr.
