Abstract
Asiks are the representatives of the tradition "Becoming Asiks", which is one of the important and rooted traditions of Turkish culture. In the period Republic, a number of studies were carried out related to asiks and the tradition of becoming asiks. The problems of asiks and tradition were referred to during scientific meetings occasionally. However, it is difficult to say that adequate study was carried out about the problems of asiks and this tradition. In this study, it was tried to be brought up what the problems and expectations about solving these problems were. The data of the study were collected via semi-structured interview form. The data were solved by content analysis. 89 asiks were included in the study. It was concluded that a number of asiks had bad straits and did not have any social insurance, cassette, and poem books. What the asiks expects from Ministry of Culture and Tourism are towards eliminating these shortcomings.
