Abstract
In this study; it is aimed to determine the frequency of spina bifida occulta (SBO) in the vicinity of Elazig by radiological investigation of the cases obtained with direct graphy due to different reasons from various clinics. A total of 500 cases who admitted to the roentgen unit of a hospital in the period of six months participated in the study. Direct graphy of those cases were evaluated. 210 of the cases were female and 290 male and age interval was 15-65. In 98 of the cases spina bifida occulta was detected and determined by direct roentgenography. 48 of them were female and 50 male. SBO was most frequently at S1 level. Studies related to incidence of lomber vertebra anomalies are quite rare in the literature. The results in our study are in accordance with the literature. This study includes Elazig and its vicinity and is thought to contribute to the studies which determine the frequency of spina bifida occulta over the country.
Abstract
Bu çalışmada herhangi bir nedenle çeşitli kliniklerden direk grafi isteminde bulunulan olgularda radyolojik incelemeyle Elazığ ve çevresindeki spina bifida okulta sıklığının belirlenmesi amaçlandı. Çalışmaya altı aylık süre içerisinde herhangi bir semptomla bir hastanenin röntgen birimine başvuran 500 olgu alındı. Bu olguların radyolojik olarak direk grafileri incelendi. Olguların 210 kadın, 290 erkek olup yaşları 15–65 arasında değişmekteydi. Olguların 98'inde direk grafiyle tespit edilebilen spina bifida okulta (SBO) saptandı. Bunların 48 tanesi kadın 50 tanesi ise erkekti. SBO en sık olarak S1 vertebra seviyesinde olduğu tespit edildi. Lomber vertebra anomalilerinin insidansı ile ilgili çalışmalar ulusal literatürde oldukça azdır. Çalışmamızdaki bulgular literatürdeki sonuçlarla uyumluluk göstermektedir. Elazığ ve yöresini ilgilendiren bu çalışma ülke genelindeki spina bifida okulta sıklığının belirlenmesine katkıda bulunacaktır.
