Barite mineralization in Toprakkale village, Mu? region occurred in recrystallized dolomitic limestones, which belong to Devonian aged Meydan formation. In the field studies, no barite depositions were seen in the schists. Barites are seen as veins in fractures and faults in the host rocks. Accordind to field investigations, barites occurred from two different phases which are also different mineral assemblages. First phase, took place in lower leves stratigraphically and have thicker veins than second phase, conformably situated with host rock layers and also have only barite minerals. Second phase barites have richer mineral assemblages such as; barite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena, chalcocite, covellite, malachite, azurite sulphide minerals. In the field second phase barites are seen as veins which are interacting the host rocks layers, crack and space-filling material.
Muş’un
Toprakkale Köyü’nde yüzeyleyen barit zuhurları, Devoniyen yaşlı Meydan
Formasyonu’nun rekristalize dolomitik kireçtaşları seviyelerinde oluşmuştur. Barit
