REMOVAL OF CHROMIUM FROM WASTES OBTAINED FROM CHROMIUM-COATING APPLICATION BY USING REVERSE OSMOSIS WITH AG, SWHR AND SE MEMBRANE

Abstract

The removal of chromium from water was investigated by using reverse osmosis (RO) technique using SWHR (FILMTEC), AG and SE (GE Osmonics) membranes. The effect of pH, concentration of the feed water and operating pressure on the chromium rejection was also investigated. Chromium rejection was dependant on membrane type, pH of the feed water and operating pressure. pH of feed water was found to be 3 optimum effective removal of chromium. The lowest permeate chromium concentration (96% highest rejection) was obtained with AG membrane. The rejection efficiency of the membranes was found to be in the order of AG > SWHR > SE. For all membranes, chromium rejection increased with increasing operating pressure. RO could be efficiently used (with >91% rejection) for the removal of chromium from liquid waste sample.

Abstract

Sudan krom eldesi SWHR, AG, ve SE membranlarla ters ozmoz tekniği kullanılarak araştırıldı.Krom reddetmesi üzerine pH nın, besleme suyunun konsantrasyonunun etkisi ve işlem basıncı araştırıld. Krom reddetmesi membran tipine, besleme suyunun pH sına ve işlem basıncına bağlıdır. Besleme suyunun pH sı etkili krom eldesi için 3 bulundu. En düşük krom konsantrasyonu geçişi AG membranda bulundu. Membranların reddetmesi sırayla AG > SWHR > SE şeklinde bulundu. Bütün membranlar için krom reddetmesi işlem basıncıyla arttı. Ters ozmoz tekniği sıvı atık numuneden krom eldesi %91 oranında başarıldı.
