CLOTHING PROBLEMS OF 6–16 YEARS OLD OBESE CHILDREN AND SAMPLE APPAREL DESIGNS

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to reveal the problems 6–16 years old obese children live in clothing. The research data were got through the total 52 obese children randomly selected from patients being registered to the Ankara city Child and Adult Obesity Organization. The data got in consequence of the survey application were given in cross tables by taking age group and gender variables into account and x2 and Fisher Exact tests were made for the analysis of statistical relation between variables. According to findings got in the result of the research, in the shopping the dresses become either very tight-fitting or very loose-fitting to the bodies of the children and young. Tightness of the loin in trousers, tightness of the waist and crotch, that zips close hardly, that buttons close hardly in shirts, tight chest part, that arms squeezes in the armpit were revealed as the most significantly lived problems. Various dress designs having the speciality to bring solution to these determined problems were presented as a suggestion., , , ,

6 – 16 YAŞ OBEZ ÇOCUKLARIN GİYİM PROBLEMLERİ VE ÖRNEK MODEL TASARIMLARI

Abstract

ÖZET Bu araştırmanın amacı, 6–16 yaş arası obez çocukların giyim konusunda yaşadığı problemleri ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma verileri, Ankara ili Çocuk ve Ergen Obezite Derneği'ne kayıtlı hastalar arasından random yöntemi ile seçilen toplam 52 obez çocuk aracılığı ile elde edilmiştir. Anket uygulaması sonucu elde edilen veriler yaş grubu ve cinsiyet değişkenleri dikkate alınarak çapraz tablolarda verilmiş ve değişkenler arasındaki istatistiksel ilişkinin analizi için χ² ve Fisher Exact testi yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre, alışverişlerde giysiler çocuk ve gençlerin bedenlerine ya çok dar ya da çok bol gelmektedir. Pantolonlarda belin sıkması, kalçanın ve ağ kısmının dar olması, fermuarın zor kapanması, gömleklerde düğmelerin zor kapanması, göğüs kısmının dar gelmesi, kolların koltuk altında sıkması en önemli yaşanan problemler olarak ortaya konmuştur. Belirlenen bu problemlere çözüm getirecek özellikte çeşitli giysi tasarımları öneri olarak sunulmuştur.
