Apollonia ad Rhyndacum Kenti Seramik Repertuarı

Öz

Apollonia ad Rhyndacum, “Olympos (Uludağ) ile Propontis (Marmara Denizi) arasında, Apolloniatis Gölü’nün (Uluabat Gölü) kıyısında” yer almaktadır. 2019-2023 yılları arasında farklı periyodlarda kentin tiyatro, kız adası Apollon Kutsal alanı ve nekropol gibi alanlarda kazı çalışmaları yapılmıştır. Söz konusu alanlarda çeşitli dönemlere ve farklı kullanım amaçlarına göre seramikler bulunmuştur. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda, kentin kuruluşunun genelde MÖ 3. yüzyıla tarihlendirildiği düşünülse de 2023 yılı Kız Adası kazı çalışmalarında tespit edilen siyah firnisli seramikler (siyah firnisli balık tabağı ağız, kaide, gövde parçaları ve kâse/tabak) kentin Helenistik Dönem öncesinde var olduğunu göstererek M Ö 4. yüzyıla kadar uzandığını ortaya koymaktadır. Genel olarak bakıldığında, kazı çalışmaları sırasında az miktarda Klasik, yoğun miktarda Helenistik, Roma ve Bizans Dönemi’ne ait tabak/kâse parçalarının çoğunun kırık ve eksik halde bulunduğu görülmüştür. Hellenistik Dönem, - açık ve koyu kahverengi, gri astarlı ağız ve kaide parçaları buluntular arasındadır. Ayrıca Geç Hellenistik Dönem’e tarihlenen Polikrom ve Roma Dönemi’ne tarihlenen ESC ve Aplike seramikler de buluntular arasındadır. Kronolojik olarak seramikler Geç Klasik Dönem’den başlayıp, 14. yüzyıl ve sonrasına kadar uzanan geniş bir spektrumu kapsamaktadır. Bu durum kentte yerleşimin MÖ 4. Yüzyıldan başlayarak kesintisiz bugüne kadar devam ettiğini göstermektedir.

Apollonia ad Rhyndacum City Pottery Repertoire

Abstract

Apollonia ad Rhyndacum, located on the shores of Lake Apolloniatis (modern Lake Uluabat) between Mount Olympos and the Propontis, constitutes one of the most significant multi-period settlements of north-western Asia Minor. Between 2019 and 2023, excavations were carried out in different areas such as the theater and the sanctuary of Apollo on Maiden's Island in different periods. Potteries were found in these areas according to various periods and for different purposes of use. As a result of the study, although the foundation of the city is generally thought to be dated to the 3rd century B.C. E, the black-glazed pottery (black-glazed fish plate rim, base, body fragments, and bowl/plate) found during the excavations on Maiden's Island in 2023 show that the city existed before the Hellenistic Period and extends to the 4th century B. C. E. The Hellenistic Period, light and dark brown slipped, grey slipped rim and base sherds are among the sherds found. In addition, Polychrome dating to the late Hellenistic Period and ESC and Applique ceramics Roman Period are among the finds. Chronologically, potteries cover a wide spectrum starting from the Classical Period to the 14th century and beyond.
