Kıraat ilmi Kur'ân'ın nüzûlü ile neşet etmiş, tarihi süreç içerisinde birtakım safahatlar geçirmiş bir ilim dalıdır. Hz. Peygamber, Cebrail aracılığı ile aldığı Kur'ân âyetlerini ashaba tebliğ etmiş, nasıl okunacağını da bizzat göstermiştir. Sahabenin de sonraki nesle şifahî aktarımından sonra tâbiîn devri itibariyle kıraat ilmine dair eserler telif edilmeye başlanmıştır. Günümüze kadar uzanan tarihi süreç içerisinde pek çok kıraat âlimi yetişmiş ve bu alanda eserler kaleme alınmıştır. Tanıtımını yapacağımız kitapta, kıymetli kaynakları telif eden âlimlerden biri olan Ebü'l-Kâsım el-Hüzelî ele alınmıştır. Abdulmuttalip Çalışkan tarafından kaleme alınan Ebü'l-Kâsım el-Hüzelî ve Kıraat İlmindeki Yeri adlı eserde Hüzelî'nin hayatı, ilmi kişiliği, eserleri ve kıraat alanına dair yapmış olduğu katkıları incelenmektedir. Kitap, giriş, iki bölüm, sonuç ve kaynakça ile birlikte 155 sayfadan oluşmaktadır. Giriş kısmında araştırmanın konusu, kıraat ilmi ve tarihi serencamına yer verilmiştir. Böylece okuyucuya, Hüzelî’nin ilmi faaliyetlerini değerlendirebilmek için gerekli zemin hazırlanmıştır. Yazar, bunun yanı sıra Hüzelî’nin genç yaşta geniş coğrafyalara kıraat ilmini iktisap etmek için yaptığı seyahatlerin önemini vurgulamıştır. Çalışkan, bununla birlikte İbnü'l-Cezerî'nin (ö. 833/1429) el-Kâmil adlı esere vermiş olduğu önem ve eserlerinde kaynak olarak kullanmasına dikkat çekmiştir. Bu bölüm, çalışmanın kavramsal çerçevesini ortaya koyması bakımından önem arz etmektedir. Birinci bölümde Ebü’l-Kâsım el-Hüzelî’nin hayatı ele alınmakta; doğduğu çevre, ilmi faaliyetlerini sürdürdüğü merkezler, hocaları ve talebeleri klasik kaynaklar ışığında değerlendirilmektedir. Verilen bilgiler klasik tabakat ve ricâl kaynaklarına dayandırılarak sunulmuştur. Böylece tarihsel güvenilirlik sağlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu bölümde amaç, Hüzelî’nin ilmi şahsiyetini şekillendiren unsurların tespit edilmesidir. İkinci bölümde ise Hüzelî’nin en önemli eseri olan el-Kâmil fi’l-Kırâât incelenmektedir. Bu bağlamda eserin yazılma amacı, muhtevası, tertibi ve kıraat literatüründeki yeri ele alınmıştır. Bununla birlikte müellif, eserin yazma nüshaları ve üzerine yapılan çalışmalar hakkında bilgi vermektedir. Yazar ayrıca eserin bölüm yapısını ana hatlarıyla değerlendirmektedir. Bu inceleme sayesinde Hüzelî’nin kıraat birikimine katkısı somut biçimde tespit edilmiştir. Kitap, bir biyografi çalışması olmasının yanı sıra, kıraat ilminin tarihsel sürecini de ortaya koymaktadır. Aynı zamanda metodolojik açıdan da önemli tespitler sunmaktadır. Çalışmanın bu yönüyle erken dönem kıraat âlimlerinden bir şahsiyeti gündeme getirmesi kıraat literatürünün anlaşılmasına katkı sağlamıştır. Hüzelî hakkında ülkemizde yapılan ilk çalışmalardan olması Abdulmuttalip Çalışkan'ın bu kitabını dikkat çekici kılmış, üzerine inceleme yapmamıza vesile olmuştur. Eser kıraat ilmiyle ilgilenen araştırmacılar için başvuru kaynağı niteliğindedir.

The science of recitation (Qira'at) is a branch of knowledge that originated with the revelation of the Qur'an and has undergone several stages throughout history. The Prophet Muhammad, through Gabriel, conveyed the verses of the Qur'an to his companions, personally demonstrating how to recite them. After the companions' oral transmission to subsequent generations, works on the science of recitation began to be compiled from the Tabi'in era onwards. Throughout history, many scholars of recitation have emerged, and numerous works have been written in this field. The book we are introducing focuses on Abu al-Qasim al-Huzeli, one of the scholars who authored these valuable resources. Written by Abdulmuttalip Çalışkan, "Abu al-Qasim al-Huzeli and His Place in the Science of Recitation" examines Huzeli's life, scholarly personality, works, and contributions to the field of recitation. The book consists of 155 pages, including an introduction, two chapters, a conclusion, and a bibliography. The introduction covers the subject of the research, the science of recitation (qira'at), and its historical development.
